CAP Companies’ founder, Tom Stanford, developed the company’s marketing and research tools during the 1970’s when he was part of the management team rolling out the Unocal 76 Auto/Truck Stop network from Coast-to-Coast within the U.S. On-site evaluation reports and surveys of truck traffic, freight movement and auto traffic needs along the interstate were created and refined during those years.
As a stand-alone entity, CAP Companies completed its first travel center site feasibility analysis in 1994. More than 190 site analysis reports, containing more than 2,700 operating travel center competitive surveys, have been compiled to date. That data has allowed CAP to develop feasibility analysis tools, and models that evaluate a Site’s potential as a travel center or C-store in terms of fuel volumes and retail sales. Our estimates include sales projections for other profit-centers such as truck shops, scales, and washes.
We look forward to working with you on your next project.
